Our raison d’être
Attentive to needs and uses, we strive to support the independence of older people and contribute to well-being by encouraging concrete local actions and positioning ourselves as a centre of resources and expertise.
We believe in human and sustainable relationships, promoting and supporting a collaborative ecosystem to unite and create links between all stakeholders in the sector.
We believe that proximity and local networking are part of a cross-functional approach to anticipate and strengthen the dynamics around healthy ageing and improving the quality of life of older people in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
As the ageing of the population is a global issue, we are also working at European level, to exchange and develop responses to the challenges our sector is facing with our European partners.
At Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine, we all share the same ambition: to do more to go further and make our region an area of excellence in the field of ageing.

Two locations: Limoges and Bordeaux
Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the largest region in France, with a mix of urban and rural areas, of dynamic and declining areas.
The main priority of Gérontopôle is to provide day-to-day support to stakeholders in finding solutions to the many dynamics of ageing in the region.
From a central point located in Limoges, Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine addresses this challenge by creating a network of local and European partners, aiming to create a regional dynamic and ensuring territorial balance, a key factor in the success of Gérontopôle and the involvement of a vast network.
At the heart of a network of stakeholders
Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine is involved in national, European, and international networks, as well as with a network of partners. By pooling expertise and working together to tackle the challenges of ageing well, the Gérontopôle can offer a range of coherent and complementary initiatives for the benefit of territories and older people.
The participation in working groups at both national and international level is crucial to fostering recognition and collaboration between our members. As a result, Gérontopôle Nouvelle Aquitaine is present at major health and independent living events in France and abroad.
The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is recognised as a Reference Site for Active and Healthy Ageing with 4 stars. Besides, Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine is a member of ENOLL, the European Network of Living Labs.
